Special Visitor at Rainbow Preschool

All three classes at Rainbow Preschool had Officer Robin as their special visitor this month.  Officer Robin talked to them about her job as a police officer.  The children learned about what police officers have on them.  The Rainbow preschool children learned about her badge, patches, uniform, radio, whistle, notepad and pens, baton, flashlight and handcuffs.  The children got to put their hands in the handcuffs.  Officer Robin explained that the handcuffs were for big people making a bad choice.  She then did a wonderful presentation on Stranger Safety.  The children were told to never talk to a stranger or go with a stranger and that a stranger is anybody they do not know.  Office Robin told the children that most strangers are good but there are some bad strangers who try to trick them.  The children learned to Say, NO!!, Run, and then tell Mommy, Daddy, grandma, grandpa, Mrs. "K", babysitter, etc.  The children also had McGruff the dog puppet to talk about strangers.  Many thanks to the Bowling Green Police Department for allowing Offficer Robin come and talk to our children about this very important subject.

Winter Art at Rainbow Preschool

The Rainbow children have been studying winter and their art projects have been focused on winter.  The classes did snow on trees where they used their finger to put white paint on tree branches and make it look like snow falling.  The older preschool children used a balloon to paint a snowman.  They glued a hat, scarf, eyes, carrot nose and glued fruit loops for the buttons on their snowman.  We have some very creative little ones at Rainbow Preschool.
